2 float planes flying out of Lake Hood in Anchorage loaded with 5 friends and two boats dropped 100 miles north on Chelatna Lake. We had 5 days to float 55 miles south on Lake Creek to our pickup location on the Yentna River. Fishing and camping along the way we ate very well and the conditions couldn't have been more perfect. ALASKA - Kenai Fjords | Seward | Exit Glacier
Переглядів 2322 роки тому
This summer I spent most of July working remotely from Anchorage and squeezing in as many adventures and excursions as time would allow. These were a few of my favorite memories from a few of the weekends I had to explore Seward, Kenai Fjords, Exit Glacier, and Byron Glacier. The Sea Otters were one of the highlights of the trip for me as they are one of my all-time favorite creatures.
EMERALD CHARTERS | Epic Shark Dive SCUBA | Mesmerizing Shark Footage
Переглядів 7343 роки тому
This was hands down one of the coolest things I've ever done. 6 dives over 2 days. We were swarmed by calm and curious lemons, silkies, a few nurse sharks, and a couple of shy bulls that kept their distance. We didn't get to see the 10' male tiger that patrols the area that we were hoping for, but we'll be back. You can't get a more intimate, up close and personal experience with sharks than th...

    😀30 years ago I also rafted Lake Creek when my mother came to visit me from Switzerland. She didn't know about the surprise and wasn't happy about the rafting. But after 2-3 miles she had fun and in the end it was an experience like no other! Greetings from Switzerland

      Hello and greetings! I haven’t been to your neck of the woods in several years either. What brought you to Alaska?! Such a great river, and what an adventure for your mother… She must be one badass lady! It’s true that the trip gets better and better as you progress, I didn’t want it to end so soon. Did you encounter any bear?

    Thank you for this. We got to see one, up close like this, sort of like this one.. Except this danged thing went on up.. way the hell above our "Service Ceiling". :>) I looked _side on_ into it. But.. I was able to see _well into this thunder head_! Billowing caverns_!_ Lightning crossing through often.. relatively clear spaces. I have not found, heard of, or actually fully understand what was visible -into this cloud. I've hoped to find more, yours's has come about closest. :>)

    I don’t know if I’d call this “INSANE”, necessarily. If you fly often, you’ll see a lot of these. Unless you get a middle seat and the person on the window has the curtain drawn so they can watch the boobtube the whole flight, which is an awful way to go.

    Beautiful display of the atmosphere’s dynamism seldom seen by most from that lofty perspective. Wherever I’ve lived with thunderstorms, I always just stop what I’m doing & just behold them; they are just so awe inspiring. To see them while flying like this would absolutely mesmerize me.

    I carried my uncle's cabin up from the Soo to its site while the guys he hired to build it gor to fish. My deal was once I carried it up I could fish. I let onbe of the guys amy 1/16th oz frog pattern rooster-tail spinner. on like my 4th trip up he had caughta monster rainbow easily over 10 pounds. He gave me back my broken lure lol. Anyways I was carrying 4 sheets of 1/2 inch plywood on my back running up the path. I probably broke some kind of record that day.. sadly the cabin was washed away in a flood in the early 1980s I guess it was. My uncle owned a flying service on Lake Hood in the 60s and 70s, and kept the cabin and land on Lake creek. He had a gig where he would buy a plane in the lower 48 and fly it up to Alaska use it while he was up there then sell it. His partner in these trips was his cousin the author Frank Herbert (Dune series) Anyways I caught so many fish on Lake creek the 2 summers I spent there and it's always a fond memory

    • @adventure_corps
      @adventure_corps 2 роки тому

      Wow… That is some incredible history my friend! What a way to spend your summers and with legendary company to boot! That is a monster Rainbow! I had one break one of my lures too! Sadly didn’t get any pictures of it before it got away. It’s a special place for sure. Does he still own the property? We saw lots of damage from flooding on the last day, banks were totally eroded and lots of trees were killed off… very eerie vibe.
